Capturing Precious Moments of Your Newborn

Your Newborn Session:
Your session will be done in my beautiful home studio in Havelock North. During our time together, my focus is on your newborn baby and loved ones. I will guide you throughout the session, ensuring that you feel comfortable and at ease while I capture the unique details that you love about your family.

Newborn sessions can take up to 2 hours so that there is plenty of time for feeds, cuddles, changes and more cuddles as baby needs.

YES Family and pets are included in your newborn session.
During the newborn session, we will not only focus on capturing the precious moments of your newborn but also take the time to include heartwarming family portraits. Whether it’s the parents’ loving embrace, the sibling’s excitement, or the tender moments shared between family members, we will capture the unique bond that defines your family.

When is the best time to photograph my baby?
The best time to photograph your baby depends on the type of portraits you desire. As mentioned, if you are looking for posed, sleepy, and dreamy photos, it is generally recommended to schedule your portrait session within the first few weeks of your baby’s life. Here’s a breakdown of the different stages and the types of portraits you can expect during each:

  1. Newborn Stage (0-2 weeks old):
    • Posed and Sleepy Photos: During the first two weeks of life, babies are more likely to sleep deeply, making it easier to pose them in adorable and artistic positions.
    • Curled-up Poses: Newborns still have that “womb-like” flexibility, allowing for cute poses with their hands under their chin or legs tucked in.
  2. Infant Stage (2-6 weeks old):
    • Awake and Alert: As babies grow older, they become more alert and aware of their surroundings. While it might be a bit challenging to get them into deep sleep for posed shots, we can capture their bright eyes and curious expressions.
    • Lifestyle Photos: This stage is perfect for capturing lifestyle images of your baby interacting with family members or in natural settings.

Viewing Appointment
This is undoubtedly the highlight of the entire experience. It’s a moment of pure joy and emotion as I get to reveal the stunning moments captured during your session. This is not just a regular viewing; it’s a personalised private movie screening of your most precious memories.

Rest assured that during your viewing appointment, I will be there to provide tissues, support, and a caring presence as you embrace the emotions that arise. It’s all part of the journey of capturing moments that matter and turning them into lifelong memories that you can cherish and share with generations to come. (Tissues are supplied)

During your Viewing Appointment you will be able to select as few or as many portraits as you desire (be prepared to love most of them!) and then you choose how you’d like them to be displayed in your home.
You will only purchase what you absolutely love!

Please note: Your order is placed at your viewing appointment, and we are not able to offer more than one appointment for each session – we therefore ask that all decision-makers be present at this time.

Finished artwork will then take between two and six weeks before it is ready for collection.
